Analysis of 127 cases of inducible urticaria provocation tests

【Abstract】Objective To analyze the positive rate and distribution of the inducible urticaria
provocation test in patients in the southern China. Methods Through detailed medical history collection and
physical examination, 127 clinically suspected inducible urticaria patients in our urticaria clinic were
selected to take the systematically Inducible urticaria provocation tests (delayed pressure urticaria
provocation test, symptomatic dermographism, vibratory angioedema provocation test, cold urticaria
provocation test, heat urticaria provocation test, and aquagenic urticaria provocation test). Results 106
people(83.46%)had one or more positive result in six inducible urticaria provocation tests. The positive
rate of symptomatic dermographism was the highest ,up to 79.53% , followed by heat urticaria provocation
test(22.05%)and cold urticaria provocation test(9.45%). Female patients have higher positive rate in
heat urticaria provocation test than men. The positive of symptomatic dermographism can often accompany
with other types of chronic inducible urticaria(91.67%). There were also high level(18.75%)in two
positive non?symptomatic dermographism(SD)inducible urticaria provocation tests at the same time. Cold
urticaria provocation test and heat urticaria provocation test can be positive in the same patient. Conclusion
Inducible urticaria provocation tests is important in the classification diagnosis of chronic urticaria.
